Kenyan runner Sebastian Seif has become the first person in history to run a marathon in less than two hours.

Kenyan runner Sebastian Seif has set a new world record in the marathon. In the race in London, he finished the race with a time of 1 hour, 59 minutes and 30 seconds.

The second in the London Marathon was the representative of Ethiopia, Yomif Kegelcha, 11 seconds behind the winner.

Save and Kejelcha became the first people in history to run a marathon in an official competition in under two hours.

The previous world record was set in 2023 at the Chicago Marathon. Then Kenyan Kelvin Kiptum covered the distance in two hours and 35 seconds.
