Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko suggested that Severstal co-owner Alexey Mordashov transfer money from offshore companies to Russia.
“Colleague Mordashov came to the top of the Forbes list, which makes us very happy – it is good that our people are getting richer. But maybe, in this case, we need to evaluate the possibilities and, perhaps, bring some offshore companies to the Russian Federation? ” — Matvienko said at a meeting of the Federation Council on April 29.
She added that in addition to the laws, “there must also be laws of conscience, patriotism, love for your motherland and country and respect for the people who have earned these huge billions for you.”
