“The environment is normal, the sky is closed. Just don’t open the windows.” A publication from Anapa issued an “exclusive interview with the governor of the Krasnodar Territory” about what is happening in Tuapse. The editors deleted it, saying the site had been hacked by “enemies.”

On April 29, the website of the Krasnodar magazine “Anapa Region” published an article entitled “An exclusive interview with the governor of the Krasnodar Territory about the situation in Tuapse.” The post was quickly deleted (but… copies Saved in the web archive), editors I mentionedThat the site was hacked by publishing a fake interview. This publication included the following statements:

  • “Today there is a lot of speculation and manipulation in this regard. (We’re talking about drone attacks – note from Medusa)…In some cases, isolated fragments of enemy drones cause minor damage to our institutions, but in general, all these drones are, in essence, impotent rage.
  • “Our air defense crews and electronic warfare units worked as efficiently as possible… If it were not for the well-coordinated work of the army, the number of attack drones could have reached the territory of the region hundreds of times. Therefore, it is important to understand the main thing: our region has always been and will remain under reliable protection.”
  • “I would say we are seeing new and innovative enemy tactics – they are attaching extra tanks of fuel oil to drones. Why? To create bright flames and smoke when they are shot down. This is a purely psychological attack, carried out on camera. We call this the ‘oil drop effect’. When our guys shoot down a target, the fuel oil scatters and burns on the ground.”
  • “There is no serious ‘arrival’, I’m telling you that officially. And if there are some pockets of smoke and local fires, it is only due to falling debris from the destroyed vehicles and the subsequent uncontrolled detonation upon impact with the ground.”
  • “I would like to say separately about our Prosecutor’s Office. Colleagues not only maintain order, but also took the initiative to carry out reclamation work and plant trees in places where enemy drones fell. This is a very correct and practical approach. We will respond to every act of aggression they commit with creativity.”
  • “Dear citizens, I urge you to do only one thing – remain calm and wise. Do not believe the lies circulating on the Internet. The environment is normal, and the sky is closed. We simply recommend not opening windows in the near future; exercising basic caution is a normal practice.”
  • “The Kuban is a fortress. We have everything to ensure safety. We work, protect and create. The situation is under my complete personal control.”

“The unauthorized materials were immediately removed and the functionality of the resource was restored. All information in the article is malicious and fake stuffing, and our editorial office has nothing to do with it,” the Anapa region’s statement read.

The editors also claim that “due to the municipal status” of the publication, they were unable to interview the governor about another city, and “the content of the article and the form of presentation of the material clearly indicate the unreliability of the information.”

The editors called on everyone who “managed to use this fake material” to delete the messages based on it, because they do not correspond to reality.

The Anapa region did not specify who exactly was behind the publication of the “fake interview.” The editors noted that they are “committed to an honest, open and reliable media policy,” and that “the enemy never sleeps.”

Meanwhile, Anapa media accused the Russian-language Polish newspaper “That’s So” of being involved in a “fake interview.” The “Anapa Region” journalists linked “This is the matter” to the “stuffing” after they noticed that the interview had been deleted and went to the editor-in-chief of the “Anapa Region” for clarification.

“Intentional provocation is also indicated by the fact that shortly after the article was removed from the site, a letter was sent to the official mail of our publication requesting information on the topic from the publication “That So”, officially recognized as a foreign agent on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the Anapa region wrote. The editors concluded that the request from “That’s So” “indicates a pre-conceived scheme to introduce and distribute a counterfeit product.”

The Anapa newspaper also published a screenshot of a message that allegedly came to them from “That’s So”. It is not clear whether this was the message the Polish newspaper sent to its colleagues in Anapa. On his website “like this” Released An article about the publication and deletion of “A private interview with the governor.” She says journalists have already contacted the Anapa region for comment, but have not received a response. The Anapa post claims to have responded to a request “like this.”

Kondratiev did not comment on the publication and deletion of the “exclusive interview.” It is not clear whether he gave an interview to the Anapa region. And if he does, then exactly when. But the interview was considered authentic not only by independent publications, but also Z bloggers.
