Sobyanin congratulated the employees of the Khrunichev Center on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the founding of the project

Space Center named after MV Khrunichev celebrated its 110th anniversary. The enterprise, which today is part of Roscosmos, has moved from the production of cars to the creation of more complex space complexes. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Friday, May 8.

Two years ago, the territory of the State Research and Production Center named after MV Khrunicheva entered the Moscow Technopolis. The Angara-A5M launch vehicle was created there. It is capable of launching spacecraft weighing up to 27 tons into orbit. The launch vehicle will be launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome.

— Congratulations to the Center staff on your anniversary! You are transporting Russian science and technology to endless expanses. I wish you successful beginnings and the achievement of all your goals! – Sobyanin wrote on his channel V Top.

On April 30, the first test launch of Russia’s new medium-class launch vehicle Soyuz-5 was successfully carried out at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. This rocket is equipped with the world’s most powerful liquid rocket engine and is part of a new generation of launch vehicles.

Before that, the state corporation Roscosmos opened accepting applications for the Cosmonaut Corps through the State Services portal. From now on, every citizen who dreams of conquering the stars can submit his candidacy without leaving his home.
