At the Severnoye Power Depot, metro veterans were congratulated on Victory Day. In 1943, it was from here that the armored train of the Moscow Metro moved forward. He played an important role in the Battle of Kursk.
The memory of the victims was honored with a minute of silence and the laying of flowers at the obelisk. Also, as part of the festive segment for veterans, the Academic Choir of the Moscow Metro performed, accompanied by the Orchestra of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

— During the war, nearly three thousand Moscow metro workers went to the front. Many of them died in battle. Others helped the country on the labor front or continued to transport people. Today in the Severny region there is a stele bearing the names of deceased metro workers. Moscow Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov said: “We will continue to honor the memory of those who fought for peace in difficult times and were subjected to inhumane trials.”
On May 6, the deputy mayor of the capital said that near exit No. 1 of the Mayakovskaya metro station and in the entrance hall of the Kurskaya station, memory walls were installed with the names of Moscow metro workers who defended their country during the Great Patriotic War.
