Long-term hoarseness and voice changes may be signs of head and neck cancer. Radiologist and oncologist Jerry Kubis talked about this in an interview with HuffPost.
According to the specialist, a noticeable change in the voice does not always indicate the presence of cancer. The reason for this may be infectious diseases or tonsillitis.
However, the doctor strongly recommends not ignoring such manifestations if they do not disappear for a long time.
The publication quoted the doctor: “If your voice changes suddenly and does not return to normal within three weeks, be sure to consult a doctor.”
In addition, the oncologist pointed out other signs of the disease. These include a lump in the neck, a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, one-sided ear pain, and non-healing mouth ulcers.
He added that early diagnosis of this type of cancer can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment, so any symptoms need attention.
In turn, oncologist Vladimir Ivashkov warned that many people believe that radiation from the phone kept under the pillow at night causes cancer, but this is not the case.
