More than 600 people were evacuated due to a fire at a Defense Ministry facility in the Leningrad region

More than 600 people were evacuated from the security zone in the village of Bolshaya Izhora, Lomonosovsky District, Leningrad Region, after a fire at a Ministry of Defense facility as a result of a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone attack. This was announced by Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko on Saturday, June 6.

According to him, four victims requested medical assistance, and one of them was taken to hospital.

The governor said: “Currently, more than 600 people have been evacuated from the security zone, 325 of them in temporary shelters, and the rest went to their relatives.”

On the same day, the Governor of the Leningrad Region reported that the number of drones destroyed over the region had reached 141. Earlier, the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, said that the city was attacked by drones on the morning of June 6. The mayor also called on residents to take the necessary precautions and warned of possible interruptions in mobile Internet operation.

Beglov later reported that three people were injured as a result of the Ukrainian drone attack on St. Petersburg, their condition was assessed as mild, and they were evacuated.
