The department stated that it is systematically identifying quarantine facilities, and despite warnings from the Armenian side, this continues. In addition, in June, according to Rosselkhoznadzor, three cases of nylon beetle infestation of Armenian nuts, dried plums and dried tomatoes were detected.

Russian regulatory authorities regularly impose bans on the import of certain products from different countries – and this often coincides with a deterioration in Russia’s relations with these countries. This was the case, in particular, with the bans on Georgian and Moldavian wines and mineral water in 2006, vegetables and fruits from Poland in 2014-2015, and tomatoes from Turkey in 2015.
