Elderly wild garlic pickers who disappeared near Irkutsk were found alive five days later

Three elderly men who went missing in the Irkutsk region and went to collect wild garlic in the upper reaches of the Mogul River have been found after a five-day search. The missing persons are now being transferred to the village of Ust-Iringa. This was reported on Thursday, June 11 by the press service of the Northern Search and Rescue Division

On June 6, men aged 67, 64 and 61 years old went on a trip to get wild garlic on the boat “Crimea”. The trail extends approximately 90 kilometers upstream of the Kirinja River, near the mouth of the Mogul River. A few hours after leaving, they stopped communicating.

The alarm was raised by the wife of one of the missing persons, who filed a complaint with the police in the city of Kerensk. A search and rescue team was immediately formed, including police officers, volunteers and professional rescue workers.

Earlier, a 57-year-old man got lost and spent four days in the forest near the village of Dostoevka in the Primorsky Territory. He was found alive four kilometers from where he disappeared.
