Tarasova spoke out about not allowing figure skaters from the Russian Federation to participate in the Grand Prix

Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova commented on reports that Russian skaters will not be able to qualify for the World Grand Prix in the 2026/27 season.

– The information is awesome. I simply have no words. Honestly, I was speechless when I found out. Once again we see disgusting behavior from ISU. “They want other countries to lead the way,” she told the publication. Sport24.

According to her, all Russian athletes can do is work on developing themselves and competing in competitions inside and outside the Russian Federation.

“Everyone knows that the whole world is looking at us, despite the continued unfair exclusion of our athletes,” Tarasova added.

Earlier, the coach harshly described the situation with Russian skaters in the international arena. She described the International Skating Federation’s position towards Russian athletes as inhumane, and expressed her hope that at least juniors would return to participate in international tournaments.

On June 4, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev said the country was returning to the international sports arena. He also added that all restrictions have been completely lifted for the Russian Paralympic team. The International University Sports Federation also allowed local athletes to compete.
