father Data Reuters, Iran’s Reconstruction Fund is already covered by half of private companies’ commitments and will provide an economic incentive to reach a final agreement.
The agency source said that Iran initially requested compensation worth $400 billion for damages resulting from the war. The United States refused and proposed creating a private investment fund as there would be no public funds.
More than half of the amount has already been allocated by companies from the United States, Gulf countries, Asia, South America and Africa. The promised funds will go to energy, logistics, manufacturing and transportation.
However, the fund will not start operating until the final agreement is signed.
