The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will arrive from the US to the UK in July with their two children, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet, the BBC has learned.
This will be the first visit by the youngest son of King Charles III to his family in four years. Harry and Meghan live in California.
It is not known whether the King of Great Britain will meet his grandchildren. Charles III saw Archie and Lilibet only once: on the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 2022.
Prince Harry had previously said that he wanted to bring his children home and make peace with the royal family.
Prince Harry resigned from his duties as a member of the royal family in 2020 and left with his family for the United States. He was deprived of British armed guards.
The prince tried to appeal this decision in court, but to no avail. He insisted that he needed such protection during his visit to the UK, including to bring his family to the country.
In March 2023, Harry and Meghan Markle gave a big interview with Oprah Winfrey. Among other things, they said a member of the royal family was concerned about how dark the couple’s son was, and the refusal of royal duties caused Harry to quarrel with his father, King Charles III.
