Sibija: The spirit of Anchorage is definitely dead

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sepiga said that “the spirit of Anchorage has definitely died.” Against this background, he called on Moscow and Kiev to sit independently at the negotiating table. The corresponding post appeared on his page on the social network X.

“Any peace plan developed without Ukraine is doomed to become a ghost and disappear,” the post read. “Moscow must… come to the negotiating table… If the ‘spirit of Anchorage’ existed at all, it is surely dead now.”

A day earlier, at the G7 summit in France, US President Donald Trump raised the issue of a possible review of the Anchorage Accords regarding Ukraine. According to media reports, before the conversation with the leaders of the G7 countries, Trump held separate talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He then raised the issue of increasing pressure on Russia, but according to the sources, the rest of the summit participants doubted his statements.

Earlier, the Russian President’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said that the United States cannot be considered a completely neutral party in the Ukrainian conflict.
