The “Yandex Go” and “Yandex Gas Stations” services began displaying data about queues and fuel availability at gas stations, state agencies said, citing the company’s press release.
Previously, this data was only available to taxi drivers. Now on the map you can see which gas stations drivers have recently refueled at, filter gas stations by type of fuel required and check queues.
The company explained that technology similar to the Yandex.Traffic service is used to create a map. Information is collected from maps, from data on fuel orders in the Yandex Refueling application, as well as from surveys of drivers who have just refueled or passed a gas station.
Information has appeared about queues in test mode for Moscow and St. Petersburg. It will become available to residents of other cities in the coming weeks.
As the fuel crisis expands, which has already affected almost all regions of Russia, regional authorities are imposing restrictions on the sale of gasoline, and queues are accumulating at gas stations – in some cases, several kilometers long. Drivers say the worst is in Transbaikalia, where they can spend up to three days in queues.
