A court in Berlin convicted palliative care doctor Johannes M. By killing 15 terminally ill patients. This incident was reported on Wednesday 8 July in Bild newspaper.
According to the investigation, between September 2021 and July 2024, the man made home visits, during which he injected patients with lethal combinations of drugs.
The ages of the victims in the case file ranged from 25 to 94 years. All of them were diagnosed with serious illnesses, but, as prosecutors noted, their deaths were not imminent in the short term.
The defendant did not testify for a long time, but before the end of the trial he admitted his guilt in 12 of the 15 episodes. He explained that he acted out of the belief that he would free patients from torment. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Before that, the woman suffered clinical death due to anaphylactic shock, which occurred during the procedure in a cosmetic clinic in the capital, and then she died in the hospital. The accident occurred in Tokmakov Lane.
