Meta has allowed images from public accounts of its Instagram account to be used to create AI images.
This feature is available in the company’s new service for creating and editing images – Muse Image. It was submitted on July 7. The generator uses artificial intelligence to generate images based on text descriptions and edit the final images.
To generate images and write Wired and GizmodoThe new service allows you to use photos of Instagram users who have public profiles.
Such a person can be tagged in the request and Meta AI uses profile photos to create it, including photos containing the person’s face. In this case, the author of the original images will not even receive a notification about these generations.
Thus, the Gizmodo author was able to create AI images with his friends and even the head of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, without asking.
Accounts with public profiles use photos to create images. To prevent the image from being used, the user must change the settings themselves.
Meta insists that Muse Image has “built-in protection mechanisms” that prohibit the creation of images that violate company rules.
