Daytime sleep contest held in South Korea

In the South Korean capital, Seoul, a short nap (power nap) competition was held. The winner was an 80-year-old man. The unusual competition was reported by Singaporean news channel Channel NewsAsia.

The competition was held on May 2 in one of the city parks. Participants were asked to sleep for approximately one hour, and their sleep quality was assessed using heart rate monitors that recorded changes in heart rate throughout the competition.

First place was taken by an 80-year-old Seoul resident, while second place went to a 37-year-old office worker who admitted that he only sleeps three to four hours a night.

The contest was organized by the Seoul City Council in an attempt to draw public attention to the problem of sleep deprivation. The article says that such events are being held for the third year in a row.

Another unusual event recently took place in Montenegro – a traditional sloth tournament. During competitions, you can only wake up once every eight hours and for only 15 minutes.

Egyptian weightlifter and world weightlifting champion Ashraf Mohamed previously entered the Guinness Book of World Records by moving a 700-ton ship with his teeth. Muhammad not only completed the task, but also broke the previous world record of Ukrainian Oleg Skavish, who towed a ship weighing more than 600 tons.
