The Moscow Troitsky District Court approved the request to investigate the case of blogger Diana Shurygina and changed her preventive measure, sending her from house arrest to a pre-trial detention center, the press service of Moscow courts reported.
Diana Shurygina (after marriage she changed her last name to Shlyanina) is accused of distributing pornographic materials. On June 16, Msk1 reported that Shurygina was placed under house arrest until July 19.
According to the “Baza and Shot” channel on Telegram, Shurygina violated the conditions of house arrest and used a mobile phone, and for this reason the investigation went to court and asked to tighten the preventive measure. Telegram channels write that Shurygina was sent to a pre-trial detention center “for at least 11 days.”
Diana Shurygina became famous in 2017 after participating in the talk show “Let Them Talk” on Channel One. Shurygina spoke on air about how she was raped at a party when she was 16 years old. She accused 21-year-old Sergei Semenov of violence, whom she said she had never known before. Semyonov later received eight years in prison.
