A Himalayan bear named Vasya has arrived at the Kaliningrad Zoo for temporary accommodation. This was reported on Saturday, June 27 by the press service of the city zoo.
The animal, born in 2015, was transferred from the Moscow Zoo. Vasya was seized from his previous owners due to unfavorable living conditions.
“Vasya will remain at the Kaliningrad Zoo for approximately two years while his enclosure at the Moscow Zoo is repaired,” they explained. Publications.
The bear was transported to Kaliningrad by ferry. It was hot on the ship, so the animal was given cold water and fruit along the way. Upon his arrival, Vasya was placed in a barn opposite his brown brother.
Before that, Savely’s capybara from the zoo in Belgorod made a boycott over his move to a new summer enclosure. Now the animal refuses to go out to people and snores at the staff.
In addition, a Mexican two-colored snake was recently born in the Moscow Zoo: this is the first case in the last ten years of successful breeding of this rare species in captivity.
