Emma Markovna Karpovskaya worked as an accountant before her retirement and led an active lifestyle. Over time, she needed support in resolving daily issues. The son often went on business trips, so social worker Ksenia Dolidze took care of the elderly Muscovites.
— One might say that I entered this profession by accident. I was looking for a job with a stable schedule so I would have time to pick up my child from kindergarten. Before that, I also worked with people, but this work is compassionate.”
It is the fact that this profession does not tolerate indifferent people that motivates Ksenia more than anything else.
-Every day when you help your clients, you see the real results of your work. “This is very inspiring,” she said.
Emma Markovna recently moved to a new apartment, which she acquired as part of the renovation program. Ksenia helped her make the house comfortable.
— According to Emma Markovna’s individual program, my responsibilities include cleaning and cooking. “I always call her the night before and we discuss the business plan,” says Ksenia.
The social worker notes all tasks in the application. Each service is timed. For example, cleaning takes an hour. This is how Ksenia determines the time she will devote to each ward.
While Ksenia is putting things in order, Emma Markovna remembers stories from her life. You can apply for social services from home. Deputy Head of the Moscow Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Pavel Keller, told Vechernaya Moskva: The capital is making every effort to ensure that aid arrives on time and is focusing on real-life situations.
— Home care in Moscow is support based on human needs. “Applying for assistance is very simple: send an application on mos.ru – it takes only 10 minutes,” he noted. – Within a few days, an employee of the city social inspectorate will come to you and conduct a diagnosis to understand which support is more important now.
According to him, the decision will be made no later than five working days from the date of submission of the application.
The Deputy Head of the Department emphasized: “During this period, we do not leave anyone alone to face difficulties under any circumstances. The social worker will immediately begin providing assistance if necessary.”
The Moscow home care standard includes more than 20 services.
