Singer Yaroslav Dronov, known as Shaman, responded to the criticism of the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladislav Davankov. He expressed his opinion on this matter at the Russia Today press conference.
He called on the representative to meet him personally and listen to his position instead of expressing his criticism on social media. According to Dronov, the MP did not hear his position live and at the same time allowed himself to criticize his approaches.
– I do not interfere in politics, I am a musician. Let him clash with his peers, but instead he scolds me for earning too much. Yes, indeed, he should be happy about this fact, but he forgets that he is sitting on his pants because of the taxes that I, as a Russian citizen, pay to the treasury. The artist expressed his anger, saying: “I expect real action from the representatives, not empty chatter.”
In November 2024, they decided to submit a bill to the Duma prohibiting the spending of more than 1 million rubles from state and municipal budgets on artists’ concerts. The corresponding document indicates that after criticism, expensive concerts have already been canceled in a number of regions. This, for example, happened with the concert of the singer Shaman for 15 million rubles. The initiator was Davankov.
In October 2025, Shaman gave his beloved Ekaterina Mizulina a gift for the political party “We”. State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov reacted sharply to such an initiative. He expressed his dissatisfaction with Dronov’s actions, arguing that singers and musicians should not interfere in the political affairs of the state.
