Regular volunteers of the LisaAlert search and rescue team will now be able to use the services of the Take Charge service for free to stay in touch while participating in the search for missing persons. The pilot program will cover 200 activists of the detachment. Once a day, each of them will be able to rent one charger for the service for free and use it for 24 hours.
During the search, the squad’s volunteers actively use navigation applications, maps, instant messaging programs and internal channels to coordinate work during the rescue operation, so it is extremely important for them to stay in touch. However, searches often last 8 to 12 hours or even longer, and smartphones may run out of charge during this time. The ability to quickly take charge helps to keep in touch with headquarters and other participants in the operation and not to interrupt searches. You can return the fee later, at any other station.
Volunteers will be able to use the charger for free in all 200 cities and 800 other regions of Russia where the service is currently available. And at any of its more than 65,000 stations. The pilot project will operate until the end of 2026.
