On July 15, North River Station turned 89 years old. It was opened to visitors in September 2020 after an extensive restoration, and today it is one of the most popular entertainment and walking places for city residents.
Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov noted that on average more than 350 events are held here annually, attended by 2.5 million people.
– After restoration, North River Station has not only become an important means of transportation, but also a favorite place for leisure and recreation. Since the beginning of the year, more than 1.3 million people have visited it, and more than 200 events have been held here. “The docks have received and dispatched more than a thousand cruise ships,” Maxim Liksutov added.
The renovated building has everything for the comfort of passengers: a comfortable waiting room, restaurants and cafes, as well as special electric cars to help you get to your cruise ship, and an accessible environment for visitors with limited mobility.
During five years of operation, and after an extensive restoration, the North River Station regained its title as one of the city’s most important transportation facilities. It has become a favorite vacation spot among Muscovites and guests of the capital thanks to its developed infrastructure, increased comfort and enjoyable leisure time.
Meanwhile, by the end of 2026, the fare payment system using facial recognition will operate at 114 stations in all Moscow Central Districts (MCD). Pay for facial recognition is already valid on D1 and D4, and by the end of July it will work on D2.
