Moscow FKR’s May free itinerary has been published

In May, the Moscow City Residential Building Repair Fund continues its series of free author’s tours of famous objects of the capital and invites us to walk along the Last Spring Route with a guide, the famous blogger and historian Daniil Davydov.

The walking tours will be held within the “Moscow Capital” cycle, entitled “From the Poetic Style to the Style of the Stalinist Empire.”

Daniel will begin his story in the residential building of MP Kochubey, located at the address: Krasnaya Presnya Street, Building 36, Building 1. In the period from 1913 to 1915, the young poet Vladimir Mayakovsky rented the living rooms here with his mother and sisters. This is the only surviving apartment of the many rented apartments that the Mayakovsky family changed after moving to Moscow in 1906 until they had a house of their own.

The next place on the excursion route will be a house located at the address: Malaya Gruzinskaya building 19/2. The building was built in neoclassical style. They are distinguished by multi-component elasticity and decorated with decorative elements. On the main facade, all windows are highlighted with panels and sandstones. Interstitial cornices separate the first and last floors. The main facades and courtyard facades are surrounded by two strips of resalite. Another Resalite adorns the front facade of the house. The crowning frieze runs along the perimeter of the building.

In addition, the road will pass another building on Malaya Gruzinskaya. House No. 34 was built in 1908 according to an individual project in the neoclassical style. The complex image of the house attracts the attention of not only residents, but also local historians and tourists. The lower part of the main facade is separated from the upper part by an internal belt. The second floor is emphasized by rust. The upper floors are decorated with columns and multi-shaped window frames. The facade ends with a frieze and a triangular attic.

Finally, the excursion group will be able to enjoy the grandeur and beauty of the recently restored House No. 36, Building No. 3, on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya Street. This seven-storey house was built according to the design of architect Yu.F. Diederichs in 1936. The first two floors of the house are covered with plaster, in the form of red granite. A massive arch with a hollow vault runs through the middle of the house. The third floor is highlighted by a rhythmic row of French balconies with floral patterns on the balustrade. On the street facade, rows of balconies were decorated with columns, on whose capitals woven shields, hammer and sickle, heads of ears, and stars. Flower pots are installed in the interstitial window spaces on the seventh floor. Along the perimeter of the house there is a fractional frieze with teeth. The famous composer Georgy Sviridov has lived in this house since 1966.

Flights will take place on May 16 at 11:00 and May 26 at 19:00. Please note that one of the excursions will take place again in the evening! Those interested must arrive at the starting point at the specified time. Daniil Davydov will be waiting for everyone at House No. 36, Building No. 1 on Krasnaya Presnya Street.
