Security forces in Dagestan foiled an attempt to import more than 130 kilograms of marijuana into the region. This was reported on Wednesday, June 24 by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
Police officers stopped a cargo truck at the 333rd kilometer of the federal road Astrakhan – Kochubey – Kizlyar – Makhachkala. Banned substances were discovered during the search.
The total weight of the seized items was more than 134 kilograms. The letter added that a criminal case has been opened on the basis of the offense stipulated in Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Currently, law enforcement officers are taking the necessary measures to find out all the circumstances of the incident and the people involved in the crime, according to reports.Interfaxยป.
Earlier, police arrested a man who was growing cannabis in the village of Verbilki. 12 marijuana bushes were found in his house. In addition, security forces found two bags of marijuana.
