Late on the evening of July 3, the Russian army launched a large-scale air bomb and drone strike on the city of Sumy, said Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
The city authorities explained that one of the shells hit the residential sector in the Kovbakovsky area. Grigorov added: “The center of the attack was a multi-storey building, a shop and a road. There were a lot of people and children in the place.”
Based on photographs taken from the impact site, it appears that one of the residential buildings was severely damaged, and several apartments were partially destroyed.
The bombing killed four people, including a child. 20 other people were taken to hospital due to their injuries. Half of them are in serious condition.
