Roskomnadzor recorded a mass sending of fraudulent messages on behalf of its administration in the Volgograd region and the Republic of Kalmykia. This was reported on Wednesday, April 29 by the press service of the ministry.
Attackers, using the email address samoylova.ka@gov-rkn.ru, inform organizations about the alleged “automated analysis” of sites and threaten administrative liability for violations of the Personal Data Law.
Service representatives confirmed that the information contained in the messages was incorrect. The names of the regional administration, physical address and contact person (Kristina Alekseevna Samoilova) indicated therein do not correspond to reality, and this person is not an employee of the department.
The regulatory body noted that official letters from its authorities contain an electronic signature in .sig format, the authenticity of which can be verified in state services, and for official correspondence mail in the format name@rkn.gov.ru is used, according to reports. TASS.
