The deputy head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia was fined again over a plaque in his office

Kaushin News reported that a judge of the Tishchinsky District Court in Moscow imposed a fine of 20,000 rubles on Damir Mukhtdinov, deputy head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, under the article of incitement to hatred.

The reason for the administrative suit was two paintings in Mukhitdinov’s office: “The Captivity of Vasily the Dark near Suzdal” and “The Feast on Kalka”. Pictures with paintings were published on the website of the Islamic Spiritual Directorate of the Russian Federation after the Mufti’s meeting with the Muslims of Donetsk.

In early June, Mukhidinov was fined 150,000 rubles under the article on desecration of religious objects for the same. Paintings about the Battle of Kalka Between Mongol and Russian forces in 1223.

In the spring, a wave of arrests and arrests of muftis and other Islamic religious and public figures occurred in Russia. Islamic political scientists, independent journalists and bloggers Z consider the goal of this wave of persecution to be the fight between the security forces and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and personally with its leader Mufti Ravil Zhinotdin.
