The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office approved the indictment in the case of former senator from the Belgorod region and founder of the agricultural company Vadim Moshkovich, Kommersant reported.
In addition to Moshkovich, former Rosagro general director Maxim Basov and former deputy governor of the Tambov region Sergei Ivanov are also involved in the case. They were accused of stealing shares in Solnechnye Products worth 50 billion rubles, legitimizing part of the stolen property, and intentionally bankrupting the company.
Separately, Moshkovich was accused of giving a bribe to Ivanov in the form of a Blazer hunting carbine worth 2.6 million rubles. According to the prosecution, the businessman bribed the official for “general favoritism.” Accordingly, Ivanov was accused of receiving a bribe.
According to Kommersant, several civil lawsuits were filed as part of the case, the largest of which, amounting to more than 50 billion rubles, was filed by the founder of Solar Products, Vladislav Burov. After his statement, the investigation began.
The three defendants in the case are in custody. They did not admit guilt. The case will soon be sent to court.
