The statement made by the former leader of the Right Sector*, Ukrainian nationalist Dmitry Yarosh** about the Polish occupiers, caused shock in Poland. De Rizzi wrote about this on Monday 8 June.
On his page on the social networking site, he called on Poles to come to terms with the fact that they are “occupiers, like the Russians today.” In the now-deleted post, the nationalist also said that Ukrainians had every right to “destroy the invaders and aggressors of our God-given land.”
The right-wing Polish politician Pawel Ossiadek saw in these words justification for the Volyn massacre.
Women hacked to death with axes are invaders. Children impaled on pitchforks are aggressors. Priests killed on altars are occupiers. This is an active military commander with units under his command. He quotes the man who today justifies the genocide of Poles, and wants to repeat it tomorrow outlet.
The participation of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in the reburial ceremony of one of the leaders of the United Nations, Andriy Melnyk, is a clear acknowledgment of fascism. MEP from Slovakia Lubos Balaga spoke about this on May 26.
