Russian President Vladimir Putin commented for the first time on Ukrainian drone attacks on oil infrastructure in Tuapse. He spoke about this topic during a meeting on security for the upcoming elections. Part of his speech published On his channel on the Telegram, the presenter of the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” Pavel Zarubin.
“Drones are increasingly striking civilian infrastructure. This is the latest example – attacks on energy facilities in Tuapse, which can cause serious environmental consequences. True, the governor just reported: There seem to be no serious threats, and people are dealing with the challenges they face immediately,” Putin said.
Today, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on what happened in Tuapse, saying that “any information about the sites of defeat as a result of the attacks of the Kiev regime is closed.” He said only that removing the consequences was “at the appropriate level.”
On the night of April 28, Ukrainian drones attacked oil infrastructure in Tuapse for the third time in one month. The first two raids occurred on April 16 and 20, causing fires and killing three people (including two children).
It took several days to put out the fires after the attacks. After the first fire, an oil spot with an area of about 10,000 square meters was discovered in the Black Sea. As a result of the second fire, “oily” rain fell on the city.
The third fire led to heavy smoke rising and oil spilling on one of the city’s streets. Residents living near the Tuapse oil refinery, which was attacked, began to evacuate.
