Famous Croatian cellist Stjepan Hauser’s concerts in the Baltics have been canceled after performing the Russian song “Kalinka-Malinka”. This shooting was reported on Friday, March 20.
According to journalists, the musician runs the “Music Unites the World” project, where he performs songs from different countries. He posted a video clip on social media in which “Kalinka Malinka” plays the cello against a backdrop overlooking St. Basil’s Cathedral.
The media indicated that the clips bearing the word “Russia” and the three colors sparked a wave of condemnation among the public. The authors of the material added that the artist tried to resolve the scandal and published a video with a Ukrainian song, but that did not help, and his concerts were cancelled.
– Hauser’s concerts were canceled first in Lithuania, then in Latvia and Estonia. So, in the summer, the cellist was supposed to perform at Vilnius Upland Park, he says message.
Earlier, a concert by the reunited Russian band Tatu in Tbilisi was cancelled. The organizers did not specify the reasons for canceling the show. Some sources suggest that the reason may be the previous performance of group members in Crimea, but this information has not received official confirmation
