RIA Novosti reported that the judge of the 418th Judicial District of the Presnensky district of Moscow dismissed the “Kofemania” fighting case against former Russian national team footballer Fedor Smolov for the sake of reconciliation between the parties.
The fight took place at Kofimania on Bolshaya Nikitskaya in Moscow in May 2025. CCTV footage showed Fyodor Smolov approaching two café patrons sitting at a table, saying something to them, then hitting one, then the other.
The footballer was accused of causing moderate harm to health. At trial, the victim said the conflict started because Smolov was calling him “my brother” and “you” in response to his suggestion that the guest account be closed.
As a result, Smolov concluded a settlement agreement with the victim, apologized to him, paid him four million rubles, and filed a petition for reconciliation. The Prosecutor General’s Office opposed closing the case, stating that Smolov through his actions “tarnished the image of the athlete,” but the court decided otherwise.
