A protocol was drawn up against Alexei Venediktov (located in Russia) regarding participation in an “undesirable” organization.

Cheryomushkinsky court in Moscow received an administrative ruling protocolMediazona reported on April 14 that this case is against the journalist, former editor-in-chief of the Ekho Moskvy newspaper, Alexei Venediktov.

The protocol was drawn up under the article on participation in “undesirable” organization activities (Article 20.33 of the Administrative Code). What became the reason for the protocol and what organization we are talking about is unknown.

At the time of publication of the memo, Venediktov had not commented on this.

Alexei Venediktov headed “Echo of Moscow” from 1998 until the liquidation of the radio station in 2022. After that, he, together with part of the team of the radio station, began working on the YouTube project “Living Nail”.

After the liquidation of the radio station, the “Echo” project was launched in Germany, and journalist Maxim Kornikov became its editor-in-chief. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation declared this organization “undesirable” in 2025.

Venediktov lives in Russia. In 2022, he was declared a “foreign agent.”
