A fire broke out in the oldest gunpowder factory in Russia in the city of Kazan – Meduza

The press service of the President of Tatarstan reported on April 14 that the fire occurred on the territory of the Kazan Powder Plant.

According to her information, the building partially collapsed as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire, according to authorities, was man-made.

The press office indicated that several people were injured. According to Channel 112, which is close to the security forces, two people were taken to the hospital, one of them in serious condition.

Tatarstan authorities added that production at the factory has not stopped.

The Kazan Powder Plant is the oldest in Russia. It produces all types of pyroxylene powders and charges for almost all types of weapons.
