Iranian Tasnim news agency reported that Iranian representatives refused to participate in the negotiations with the United States, which were scheduled to take place on April 22 in Islamabad.
Tehran’s representatives informed the American side through an intermediary in Pakistan that they would not participate in the negotiations. According to Tasneem, this is the final decision.
The agency wrote that the Iranian authorities consider their participation in the negotiations a waste of time, because “the United States is preventing any reasonable agreement from being reached.”
father Data Axios reported that the trip of US Vice President J.D. Vance, who is leading the US delegation, to Pakistan has been postponed indefinitely.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said earlier on April 21 that the United States of America violated the terms of the ceasefire agreement that the countries concluded two weeks ago.
A temporary truce was reached between the United States and Iran for two weeks. The ceasefire was expected to end on April 21, but the United States agreed to extend it until the evening of April 22.
