On the second day of the three-day truce, Vladimir Zelensky said there had been no large-scale attacks from Russia, and Vladimir Putin himself says he is finally ready to hold real meetings.
According to Zelensky, despite the lack of missile or air strikes, Russian forces continue their offensive activity in front-line areas. He added that the Russian army on the front “does not keep silent and does not even really try,” and Ukrainian units behave in a mirror manner.
At the same time, Zelensky said, on May 9 and 10, Ukraine refrained from taking far-reaching measures in response to the absence of large-scale Russian attacks. But “if the Russians decide to return to a full-scale war,” Kiev’s “sanctions” for this “will be immediate and will be felt,” he promised.
In addition, Zelensky said that Ukraine continues to discuss guarantees from the US side for the implementation of the agreements, including the exchange of prisoners in the 1000-1000 format with Russia. The President of Ukraine claims that the Ukrainian coordination headquarters has already handed over the lists.
Zelensky said that security issues are also being discussed with the United States so that Ukrainian diplomacy has a strong position. He added: “Now Putin himself says that he is finally ready to hold real meetings. We pushed him a little, and we have been preparing for the meetings for a long time; we need to find a formula.”
