The Ministry of Facilities Protection appeared in the structure of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the region, Gleb Nikitin.
The mission of the new ministry, according to Nikitin, will include “protecting the skies of the region, its utility facilities and the energy complex, which is one of the main targets of hostile drone attacks.”
The Ministry of Utility Protection in the new structure of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region will be part of the same cluster with the Ministry of Energy, Housing and Communal Services.
Ukrainian drones have repeatedly bombed targets in the Nizhny Novgorod region, including the oil refinery in Kustovo and companies in Dzerzhinsk. On May 28, a drone damaged the roof of the regional court building in downtown Nizhny Novgorod.
