Specialists of the “Call Yourself” project of the capital’s IT administration are trying to teach Muscovites not to panic when scammers call, but to disconnect calmly and on time. Project manager Valentina Shilina spoke about this.
– Complexity (for project experts – almost. “VM”) was how to talk about such a threat without causing panic. If we say that there is fraud everywhere, people will immediately run to hang up their phones, stop interacting and communicating completely, and will immediately hang up. We needed them to remember the simple phrase ‘call yourself’ and hang up at the right moment,” says Shelina TASS.
Paying in stores and leaving tips – today this can be done using quarry codes. However, experts from the Call Back Yourself project warn that there is also a threat behind the convenience of the tool. The most common trick of scammers is to replace real QUAR codes with fake ones. It can lead to phishing sites, theft of personal data, or your device being infected with viruses.
