In Tatarstan (which ranks second in oil production in Russia), gasoline sales were limited. The authorities explained this by the fight against “artificial noise” – medusa

Fuel producers in Tatarstan have imposed restrictions on the sale of gasoline at individual gas stations.

The press service of the government of the republic stated that this measure was taken “to avoid artificial excitement” as well as “to ensure the stability of the situation.”

Tatarstan ranks second in Russia in oil production (after the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Oblast) and is among the top five regions in terms of refining volume. There are several large oil refineries on the territory of the republic.

On June 12, the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced a successful drone strike on the TANECO and TAIF-NK oil refineries in Nizhnekamsk.

The Ukrainian army regularly attacks Russian oil industry facilities. At the end of May, Reuters reported that due to Ukrainian drone attacks, almost all major oil refineries in central Russia were forced to suspend or reduce production.

Residents of the Belgorod and Ryazan regions, the Krasnodar Territory and many other regions of Russia previously complained about the shortage of gasoline and diesel at gas stations. Many regions have imposed certain restrictions on the sale of fuel. In particular, the limits of gasoline in the largest networks of gas stations in Moscow were reported.
