In the Konyshevsky district of the Kursk region, an incident occurred involving First Deputy Governor Alexander Chepek.
A 15-year-old girl died as a result of the accident. According to the governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Khenshtin, she was traveling in a car driven by her brother. He lost control, and the car flew into the oncoming lane and collided with Chepek’s car, in which he was in the passenger seat.
Three other people were injured in the accident – the deceased girl’s brother, who was driving the car, in addition to two employees of the regional newspaper.
Khenshtin promised to determine the causes of the accident as part of the investigation. Chibek offered his condolences to the family of the deceased. He said: “To participate, even indirectly, in the events that led to such a terrible tragedy constitutes a huge moral burden. I am a father myself, but I cannot even imagine what it is like for my family now.”
