A Canadian man has pleaded guilty to secretly filming 652 women and girls

A Saanich (Vancouver Island) man has pleaded guilty in a voyeurism case that targeted 652 women and girls. Police describe the case as the largest case of voyeurism in Canadian history. This was reported by CBC on Friday, May 22.

The accused secretly photographed women and girls for a long period. Investigators were able to identify all 652 victims. Justice officials noted that the scale of the crime was unprecedented in the country.

The name of the convicted person has not been revealed for ethical reasons. A date for sentencing has not yet been set. Local human rights groups called for tougher penalties for such crimes.

Earlier in the United States, a homeowner from New Hampshire was arrested: he had been monitoring the tenant for four years. Investigators learned that the pensioner had been secretly filming a girl who rented an apartment from him with a hidden camera about four years ago. The criminal also watched her guests at moments “when they were naked.”
