Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has questioned Alexander Lukashenko’s statements that he does not want to be drawn into the Russian-Ukrainian war. Zelensky believes that Russia will continue to push Belarus into the war, but “he realizes that Ukraine will respond.”
The leader of Ukraine noted that on the territory of Belarus along the border with Ukraine “there is a fire that is setting fire to the Ukrainian population.” The President of Ukraine said: “There are repeaters on the opposite towers. Can he take them off? Why does he say that he does not want to be in the war? Let him remove this equipment, let him turn off this equipment.”
According to him, a week will be enough for Lukashenko to remove these repeaters. “If he doesn’t do it, we will do it,” Zelensky threatened.
Earlier in June, in an interview with Al Arabiya, Lukashenko said that it was unacceptable to drag Belarus into the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to him, he and Putin believe that this matter does more harm than good. Lukashenko admitted that Belarus is “extremely vulnerable” to Ukrainian attacks, and stressed that Kiev “has absolutely nothing to fear” from Minsk.
Vladimir Zelensky has been saying since April that military activity has increased in Belarus, and that Russia may try to drag the country into war. In turn, Alexander Lukashenko claims that he does not want war. At the same time, he announced a few years ago that he was ready to go to war if Ukraine attacked Belarus.
