A French student in Singapore faces up to two years in prison over straw

A court in Singapore is hearing the case of a French student who licked a straw and returned it to a vending machine on the street. This was reported in the Daily Mail on Monday, April 27.

According to investigators, the man filmed his actions, uploaded the video to his personal blog and captioned it: “The city is unsafe.”

The video suddenly went viral, disgusting netizens. iJooz had to replace all 500 straws in the machine after the incident.

The student was charged with disorderly conduct and causing a public nuisance. He faces up to two years in prison and a heavy fine.

The man studied at the Singapore branch of the ESSEC business school. The educational institution stated that it is conducting an internal investigation and reports edition.

Previously, 60-year-old Shoji Maekawa, who spent nearly 40 years in prison for the murder of a schoolgirl, was acquitted in Japan. The reinvestigation cast doubt on his guilt.

A similar situation occurred in Russia. A resident of Bashkiria, Fathuli Iskhakov, who spent 13 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, received compensation in the amount of 95 thousand rubles.
