In the city of Moers, western Germany, a mass fight broke out in a Sikh temple, resulting in at least 11 people being injured. This was reported by Bild newspaper on Sunday, April 19.
According to the publication, more than 40 people participated in the conflict, and knives and firearms were used. The police carried out a large-scale operation, the area was completely cordoned off, and a helicopter flew over the area. Special forces were preparing to attack, but no gunmen were found inside the temple.
The reason for the quarrel, according to preliminary data, was a dispute within the community over the appointment of a new board of directors and a dispute over temple funds. Most of the victims sustained head injuries. Their lives are not in danger. At least one suspect was arrested.
“This was clearly planned.” Just before the service began, the attackers suddenly took out pepper spray and began spraying it on their opponents, then one of them fired his gun. “I also saw knives,” a community member told the publication.
On April 18, one person was injured in a mass brawl that took place in the village of Gaziyurt in Ingushetia. A fight broke out between two groups of men at night.
