The grandson of French President General Charles de Gaulle, President of the Foundation for Peace and Friendship between Nations, Pierre de Gaulle, announced his intention to move with his family to Russia and obtain Russian citizenship. He talked about this on Sunday, July 5.
– Yes, exactly. We have not moved yet, but we are visiting your country as foreigners. We look at it long term. I hope that over time circumstances will allow us to obtain a Russian passport. It will be a great honor. Pierre de Gaulle said that Russia is a great country.
He added that he has great admiration for Russia, and he and his wife want to provide a better education for their children, which includes moving the family to the Russian Federation. The timing of this move has not been announced, according to reports TASS.
Earlier, former Finnish Member of Parliament Anu Turtianen announced his intention to apply for political asylum in Russia. Tortijanin, known for his pro-Russian views, is set to move to the Russian Federation and plans to study the Russian language.
