In four districts north of Moscow, 10 new renovation buildings are being built in place of old houses

In the north of Moscow, 10 residential complexes will appear on the site of houses resettled and dismantled to implement the renovation program. This was announced by the head of the Moscow Urban Development and Construction Policy Complex, Vladimir Efimov.

— An important principle for implementing the regeneration program is wave resettlement, which involves building new housing on the site of previously resettled houses. Thus, in the north of the capital, 10 new buildings are being built in place of old houses. Four of them are being built in the Timiryazevsky district, and two each in Beskudnikovsky, Golovinsky and Dmitrovsky. Apartments in residential complexes are designed in accordance with the current needs of Muscovites. They are bright, spacious and have comfortable designs. “In addition, the principles of barrier-free environment in homes will be observed,” said Vladimir Efimov, whose words were quoted by the press service of the capital’s urban planning complex.

Instead of dismantling old houses, new ones are built, into which renovation program participants later move. The whole process is carried out in several stages. The sites are being cleared using a “smart demolition” method that reduces the volume of construction waste and reduces the harmful impact on the environment.

The Urban Development Policy Department added that a total of more than 4.2 thousand apartments have been designed in the new residential complexes. In addition to the new buildings, there will be landscaped areas, children’s sports fields, entertainment and walking places. The first floors will be non-residential; Social infrastructure facilities will be opened there, such as pharmacies, shops, cafes and entertainment centers.

Building construction at all stages is controlled by the Moscow City State Construction Supervision Committee (Mosgosstroynadzor).

The administration added that since the beginning of the construction of restoration houses in the north of the capital, a total of 39 field inspections were conducted, during which Moscow control inspectors evaluated the compliance of work and materials with design solutions. Specialists from the affiliated Expertise Center were involved in supervisory activities to conduct effective construction quality control.

The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about one million Muscovites and provides for the resettlement of 5,176 homes. Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin instructed to double the pace of implementation of the renovation programme. He also said that engineering infrastructure in 70 areas had been upgraded as part of the regeneration programme.

Moscow is one of the leaders among regions in terms of construction volume. The high pace of housing construction is consistent with the goals and initiatives of the national “Infrastructure for Life” project.
