In Russia, you can be fined for singing with a guitar

Singing loudly with a guitar may result in a fine for breaking the silence. This was stated by lawyer Alexander Karavaev.

He explained that in Russia there is no single federal law on silence; The rules are set at the regional level. In most areas, night time is the period from 23:00 to 07:00, when noise is prohibited.

According to him, loud music during these hours could be considered a nuisance to the safety of citizens and lead to administrative liability.

Karavaev added in a conversation with TASSRegional regulations provide for fines. In Moscow for citizens it ranges from one thousand to two thousand rubles, with repeated violations the amount increases.

Earlier, Olga Vlasova, advisor to the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of Russia, said that citizens could receive a fine if their home appliances make noise higher than the permissible level. In particular, the maximum during the day is 55 dB, at night – 45 dB. The specialist stressed that the punishment does not depend on the cause of the noise, but rather on its strength.

Residents of the Moscow region were reminded of the region’s law of silence during the May holidays. This was announced on April 30 by Mikhail Raev, a member of the Moscow Regional Duma Committee on Construction, Energy, Housing and Public Utilities Policy.
