Muscovites help participants of the SVO, residents of new territories and border areas

Muscovites actively support the fighters participating in a special military operation, as well as residents of new territories and border areas. Concerned citizens, within the framework of voluntary associations, collect and send the necessary aid, ranging from food supplies to books intended for children. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about this on Friday, May 8.

According to the city president, the main goal of the volunteers is to provide support to those who defend the motherland and those who find themselves in difficult life situations. He also talked about some of the volunteers. Victoria Makonnen heads a volunteer group that, over four years of work, has created more than 3.5 thousand pieces of equipment for the fighters, as well as more than 1.1 thousand pairs of warm socks and other necessary items.

Irina Litvinova runs the charity center “I am a volunteer”. The organization collects humanitarian aid, produces freeze-dried food for military personnel, weaves camouflage nets, produces first aid kits, and sews heat-resistant photographic coats. The total volume of aid sent exceeded 350 tons, and the area of the camouflage nets was 27 thousand square meters.

Vera Mavryashina founded the volunteer group “Unity”, whose members manufacture tactical stretchers, thermal blankets, underwear and bedsheets, anti-drone curtains, and also prepare freeze-dried meals. Sobyanin added that many volunteers received the “Moscow Volunteer” badge for their contribution.

The “Moscow Helps” project succeeded in uniting more than 18.5 thousand volunteers, including young people. Organizing charitable activities and attracting young people to participate in events is consistent with the goals of the national project “Youth and Children” and the federal project “We Are Together,” Sobyanin wrote on his page in Top.

Zelenograd activists organized humanitarian action to support participants in the special military operation. They will send camouflage nets and other items needed by the fighters to the combat zone.
