On April 24, the State Biological Museum named after KA Timiryazev was opened. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture in Moscow.
The museum on Malaya Gruzinskaya occupies an area of 800 square meters, but in terms of the scope of subjects it has no equal in the country. The halls of the cultural institution include plant and animal physiology, genetics, theory of evolution, origin of life and molecular biology.
In 2022, on the occasion of its centenary, the Biological Museum opened the exhibition “12 Signs of Organisms” in the Geology Pavilion of the VDNKh. Last summer, “Biocluster” appeared – a large project that currently covers two historical wings. Meanwhile, many other sites will be added in the future.

On the occasion of the Biological Museum’s birthday and Biologist Day, which is celebrated this year on April 25, the museum has prepared a number of educational and entertaining events. It will be held in two places – in a historical building on Malaya Gruzinskaya Street (House 15) and in the Biocluster of VDNKh. Participants will learn about the diversity of biological professions, the scientific work of museum staff and their hobbies, and will also watch presentations of new books about nature.
